Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta

A Fresh Take on Regatta Tradition

We were tasked with designing commemorative logos for both the 45th and 47th Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta. While each year required a fresh concept, the challenge was to create something unique that still felt consistent within the established brand.

Using the existing color palette and iconography, we developed two distinct approaches. For the 45th Regatta, we created a buffalo icon constructed from regatta-inspired elements, bringing together the spirit of the event in a bold and recognizable way. For the 47th, we took a more typographic approach, using oars to form and connect the numbers four and seven into a cohesive visual mark.

Both designs were tested by the client through social media voting against other concepts. Each logo was selected as the winner for its respective year and brought to life on participant t-shirts, reinforcing the event’s identity while celebrating its ongoing legacy.
